Family members of Evadnie Baker, 74, have been frantically searching for her since she went missing from her home in Ensom City, Spanish Town, last Saturday.

Baker, who suffers from Alzheimer's, was wearing a floral blouse at the time of her disappearance.

Her granddaughter, Shanna-Kay Brown, told THE STAR that this is not the first time that Baker has wandered off.

"She left the yard once before and went to some family members in Greendale; that was since year, but she came back home. The first time in the year when she went to the family member's home, we didn't know that she left, she didn't say anything to any of us," she said.

But Brown said she is concerned, as they have reached out to those family members every day and they have not seen her either.

"We went to different family members' homes. We went to Tawes Pen, where she has family. A brother passed away recently. He was from Tawes Pen, so we went up there. She used to live in Central Village maybe 25 years ago, we went up there twice. She had family in St Elizabeth, we contacted them and they searched around, but nobody hear anything," she told THE STAR.

Checks with other family members from Old Harbour Road have proven futile as well.

With no word coming about her grandma's whereabouts, Brown said family members have turned to various medical facilities.

"I checked the infirmary in Spanish Town. I called Father Ho Lung's home in Spanish Town, they don't have anyone fitting that description. We checked the Spanish Town Hospital every day since Saturday," Brown said.

And although she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's almost two years ago, she suffers from no other major illness.

"At one point last year, the doctors said her pressure was a little high, but apart from that everything was okay," she said.

But Brown said the family hasn't given up hope and are still searching for her.

"I was planning on going up by KPH. I checked with them yesterday (Tuesday) and they said that they don't have anybody fitting the description or any unknown (person)," Brown said.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Evadnie Baker can call the Spanish Town Police at (876) 984-2305 or members of the family at (876) 599-4251 or (876) 616-9254.
