Dancehall veterans collab
Dancehall artistes Mr Easy and Future Fambo have joined forces with Deejay Yellow for ‘Cyaan Go Round Yuh’, an explosive new collaboration fuelled by infectious rhythms, playful lyrics and the unmistakable chemistry of distinctive dancehall voices.
Produced by Yellow House Promotions, the single is the first one from the label’s inaugural dancehall rhythm, ‘Aktive’. Written by Mr Easy and Troy Auxilly Wilson, the energetic, female-focused track taps into the feel-good, collaborative spirit of 90s dancehall while delivering a fresh sound for today.
For Mr Easy, inspiration struck almost immediately after hearing the rhythm while driving through New York. Although he initially hesitated to listen after receiving a steady stream of rhythms from producers, the Aktive project changed his mind within moments.
“The minute I put the riddim on in the car, the whole vibe just hit me. I started vibing, and the song just came,” Mr Easy said. The experience also reinforced something the artiste has learnt over his decades in music: never underestimate where the next great record might come from.
“You can’t underrate or underestimate any producer,” he added.
Mr Easy quickly reached out to musician and collaborator Clarity, also known as Drumrat, and the two began developing the record. Within approximately an hour, the foundation of Cyaan Go Round Yuh was complete.
“When something moves with that type of energy, you know it’s on the right track,” Mr Easy said.
The timing couldn’t be better, as the song arrives during a sizzling summer for Mr Easy and Future Fambo, with both artistes generating fresh attention and momentum. Mr Easy continues to command attention across generations with a catalogue that includes loads of dancehall favourites including the timeless Drive Me Crazy. Future Fambo is enjoying a resurgence of his own, powered by the viral success of Red Light Pepper Light. The track has generated significant attention across TikTok and other social media platforms, while the celebrated deejay has also seen increased momentum on the live performance circuit and several music releases.
Now, Cyaan Go Round Yuh brings that momentum together on a record that bridges the genre’s classic collaborative energy with its current sound.
“People want to hear this type of vibe again,” said Mr Easy. “It’s positive energy, and the song came out amazing.”
