Man held after cops find gun in abandoned Tivoli house

A man was arrested after police allegedly uncovered a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation in Tivoli Gardens, Kingston, on Saturday.

Reports are that at about 10:00 a.m. on July 18, members of the National Strategic Anti-Gang Division (NSAD) carried out an operation at an abandoned house on Shearer Drive.

During a search of the premises, lawmen reportedly seized a 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing six rounds of 9mm ammunition.

One man was taken into custody in connection with the seizure. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Police continue to probe the matter.
