Jamaica international Khadija Shaw has gone into double figures in her first season with French club Bordeaux following their 4-0 win over Soyaux-Charente in their Division One encounter at the Stade Camille Leon last Saturday.

The 22-year-old Shaw, who is coming off a disappointing Olympic qualifying campaign with the Reggae Girlz, notched her 10th goal of the season in the 14th minute to double the lead for Bordeaux after Viviani Asseyi opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Ouleymata Sarr had a brace in the 36th and 80th minute to wrap up the points in match that Bordeaux dominated from the opening whistle. The victory extended their unbeaten league run to nine games dating back to November 2 of last year and keeps them in third place with 37 points, four points away from second-place Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) who also won on the weekend.

Shaw, Jamaica's all-time leading goalscorer for both men and women, remains tied for fifth in the golden boot race with Dzsenifer Marozan of Lyon, but has currently solidified herself as the second highest goalscorer for her team. She is now two goals behind teammate Asseyi who took her tally to 12 last Saturday, putting her tied for third overall for the golden boot.

With six games left to play this season the victory keeps Bordeaux's hopes for a Women's Champions League spot next season alive. The two top teams in the league are guaranteed places in next year's competition and Bordeaux will look to pip PSG for that elusive spot. That could be determined when the two teams meet in the penultimate game of the season on May 16.

In the meantime, Bordeaux will host Metz in two week's time in league play on March 14 before they face PSG in the Coupe de France women's semi-finals on March 22.
