National senior women's captain Konya Plummer isn't allowing the coronavirus pandemic to stop her from basking in her academic achievements.

The 22-year-old defender recently completed her Bachelors of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies, health and education with a minor in sociology from the University of Central Florida (UCF). The Titchfield high school alumnus took to Instagram on Saturday to celebrate her success. "2020 quarantine or not ... I DID IT," she posted to the appreciation and congratulations of those who commented.

Plummer transferred to UCF from Southeastern University in 2018 after playing for the Southeastern Fire for two years as a forward.

She made 38 appearances, scoring 19 goals and registering 16 assists, and was named to the first team All Sun Conference in 2016.

She only managed to feature in nine games in her first season at UCF in 2018, where she was converted to the centre back position. During that season, she helped the Reggae Girlz qualify for last year's Women's World Cup in France, where she played all three matches in the group stage.

In 2019, her final season for UCF, she started 16 of the 17 regular-season games, conceding only seven goals. Her performance resulted in her being named the American Athletic Conference Defender of the Year and earning her a selection to the First Team All Conference.

She became the first Jamaica-born player to be drafted by the National Women's Soccer League when she was selected 10th overall by the Orlando Pride. Last January, she signed a two-year deal with the club in March and is awaiting the start of the season, which has been delayed because of the pandemic.
