Bank on High Slew Squared

PATRICK LYNCH's Canadian, HIGH SLEW SQUARED, is the safest banker on Saturday's nine-race card, returning off a near six-month break in the sixth event at five furlongs round.

Though many bettors are superstitious about starting or closing bets with bankers, the practice of 'paying for' a second, or third selection severely limits options for tougher races, defeating the purpose of playing exotic bets such as the Reggae 6.

Last raced November 29, HIGH SLEW SQUARED chased home WAYNE'SCHERRYLINKS at five furlongs straight, her fifth run after debuting in June as a three-year-old.

HIGH SLEW SQUARED finished third on her second outing behind American ROCKET FIRE SEB and fellow Canadian, SASH ON, returning four months later, October 18, to put away RALPH'S TREASURE and T SWIZZLE at five and a half furlongs.

A month later, November 16, HIGH SLEW SQUARED finished down the track behind NUCLEAR JET, DANKA and American FRED THE MASTER. She returned 13 days later to chase home WAYNE'SCHERRYLINKS in an improved performance, turning the tables on DANKA.

SUMMER PALACE and MARGARITA will try escaping HIGH SLEW SQUARED. However, the Canadian's 1:16.3 for six furlongs at exercise last Sunday suggests she is in good shape and should mow down the locals.
