Teen facing gun charges
Detectives assigned to the Kingston East Police Division have charged a man with shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, using a firearm to commit a felony, and unlawful wounding following a shooting incident along Pleasant View, Bull Bay, St Andrew, on Monday.
Charged is 18-year-old David Minnell, otherwise called 'Dadda,' of Pleasant View. Reports from the Elletson Road Criminal Investigation Branch are that at 4:30 p.m., a man was outside his premises when he was reportedly attacked and beaten by Minnell and three other men. They then brandished firearms and fired at the man, who managed to elude them. The matter was reported to police and an investigation was launched.
Minnell was subsequently taken into custody, where he was positively pointed out to the police as one of the attackers. He was subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney. His court date is being finalised.
