Man caught with Glendon 'Bull' Amos says he didn't know he was a fugitive

A St Catherine man charged with harbouring one of the parish’s “Most Wanted” men told the court on Monday that he had no idea the fugitive was being hunted by police when they were held together last year.

Dean Dawson, who is charged with harbouring fugitive Glendon “Bull” Amos, took the witness stand in the St Catherine Parish Court on June 1, 2026, where he maintained his innocence under sworn testimony.

Dawson told the court he was simply trying to earn an honest living to support his family.

“I am a security guard, I also do charter to feed my family and even scrape concrete from trucks for a living and to provide for my family,” Dawson testified.

However, the Clerk of Court challenged his credibility, pointing out that in previous testimony on March 23, 2026, he claimed to be a farmer.

Dawson explained that his security salary was small and he had to take on several jobs to survive.

The court also questioned him about his alleged association with Amos.

“In your previous testimony you said that when the police enquired if you know Amos was wanted you responded, ‘A date mi hear’,” the Clerk of Court said.

Dawson denied making the statement and insisted he only learned Amos was a fugitive after the police informed him following their arrest.

“All that I said was the truth,” Dawson told the court.

During re-examination, defence attorney Teddison May Jackson asked Dawson to explain what he meant by “doing everything” to support his family.

“I mean that I do farming, construction, security and other jobs to care for my family,” he replied.

The case stems from an incident on January 29, 2025, when members of the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force allegedly found Dawson and Amos together in a vehicle in Moneague, St Ann.

Dawson claims he was operating the vehicle as a charter at the time.

Police investigators said Amos was wanted for several crimes, including murder, when he was captured.

Dawson was subsequently charged with harbouring a fugitive.

He is expected to learn his fate when the matter returns to court on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
